WAECO’s air conditioning experts have, once again, extended their successful CoolAir series, combining the high-performance compressor unit SP 950C with two different evaporator units. The air flow unit of the CoolAir SP 950I is fitted to the inside of the cabin’s rear wall, that of the CoolAir SP 950T is integrated in a low-profile roof evaporator unit, the flattest of its kind worldwide. The various models of the WAECO CoolAir series have proven their worth in the past few years. More and more trucks travelling on Europe’s roads are fitted with the most popular parking cooler. Even so, some truck drivers have had to go without the comforts of stationary air conditioning until now, and without the benefits on traffic safety it provides. Typically, this used to be the case on tall cabins or cabins fitted with a spoiler or roof-mounted structure, e.g. on car transporters. For those tricky installation conditions the WAECO experts have extended the CoolAir SP 950 product family. A newcomer to the range is the anthracite interior evaporator unit SP 950I, which blends harmoniously into the design of most truck cabins and eliminates the need for a roof-mounted unit. The air flow and temperature can be easily controlled by remote control or at the touch of a button on the control panel. The air nozzles can be turned and tilted to any position. In addition to the interior evaporator unit, the range includes the reddot Design Award winner CoolAir SP 950T – a super-low-profile roof evaporator unit that easily fits under spoilers and roof-mounted structures with its mounted height of just 58 mm. The powerful 1000-watt compressor of the split air conditioner creates a pleasant temperature inside the cabin. Moreover, it effectively dehumidifies the air, which makes for a relaxing sleep. Installation is quick and easy thanks to the well thought-out CoolAir installation concept, so retrofitting is associated with minimal downtimes. Tailor-made installation kits are available for all common truck cabins built by DAF, Iveco, MAN, Mercedes-Benz, Renault, Scania and Volvo. All A/C components are installed using the vehicle’s existing fastening points. The air conditioner can be removed anytime without leaving a mark on the vehicle, because it is installed without drilling or cutting into the bodywork. Compact and powerful, the system offers all the benefits of the WAECO CoolAir series: soft-start electronics and adjustable low-voltage protection to reduce the strain on the vehicle battery, three blower levels, digital status readout as well as an absolutely maintenance-free refrigerant circuit. Last but not least, the SP 950T is complemented with a custom-built installation kit for the popular MAN models with TGS/TGX-XLX cabins
