Pure Water on the Road

Has your water been Hydratreated?

The main purpose of any filter when travelling around Australia is to ensure the removal of Giardia parasites as well as harmful bacteria in un-chlorinated water supplies.

So, what is Giardia?

Giardiasis is an infection of the small intestine caused by the protozoan parasite Giardia lamblia.

Transmission is most likely to occur if hands are not washed after going to the toilet or after changing nappies; by drinking contaminated water; by swimming in contaminated pools; by handling infected animals; and through eating food contaminated by an infected person.

To prevent and control infection with the Giardia parasite, it is important to:

  • Practice good hygiene.
  • Avoid water (drinking or recreational) that may be contaminated.
  • Avoid eating food that may be contaminated.
  • Prevent contact and contamination with feces (poop)

A quick google search of "giardia Australia" shows WA, NSW, SA, VIC and Aust Gov all have health warnings about the little buggers (parasites). Interestingly QLD lists Giardiasis in their business directory....hummmm!!  Enough of the messy stuff. The takeaway from this is always make sure that your drinking water is safe to drink.

The Hydratreat Purification System is a five (5) stage filtration reverse osmosis system which will purify water drawn from creeks, rivers, bores, wells, dams and town water supplies.  An add-on will also treat salt water.  The manufacturer claims water from the system is as pure as that used in hospital operating theatres delivering a minimum of 1.5 litres per minute of purified water.

The Hydratreat Purification System was developed to provide quality drinking water for all RVs, caravans, motor homes, camper trailers, boats and yachts.  With the ever-increasing number of people travelling to remote locations (on land and water), this system will make travelling much less stressful.

Quality Drinking Water

Quality drinking water is essential and the Hydratreat System quality water has been tested in a caravan travelling across Australia filtering water from many various sources.  It is suggested that the filters are replaced at a minimum every five (5) years (for fresh water) and every twelve (12) months when filtering salt water and high calcium water.

Total weight including holding tank full of water is approx. 17 kg.
Powered by 12v battery or 240v adaptor.
12 months warranty including the pump.

The Hydratreat Purification System consists of the filter stand and the pressure storage tank
